According to the official version, 75-year-old McAfee committed suicide in a Spanish prison when he learned that he would be extradited to the United States. In the States, the patriarch of the IT business and the supporter of cryptocurrencies faced a trial and a long prison term.

McAfee is the creator of the first commercial antivirus and founder of a company of his name. However, since 2010, he has become better known as a crypto evangelist and influencer. At the peak of the ICO, he was engaged as an advisor in many blockchain projects. McAfee truly believed in the good prospects for bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market.

In the summer of 2017, when nothing foreshadowed the rise of the cryptocurrency market, he predicted a fast rise in the price of bitcoin. BTC did soar to $20K by December 2017. But McAfee predicted even more incredible growth, to $500K in 3 years. And later he said the price would be $1 million by the end of 2020.

McAfee’s strong statements have undoubtedly affected the market. The community recognized him as a major IT expert. With his help, rather dubious projects successfully raised funds through ICOs, and later collapsed along with the ICO market in 2018. His forecast of the BTC price of $1 million has long inspired investors. After all, McAfee promised to eat his own penis on the air if the forecast does not come true. However, he did not fulfill his promise and remained a fully functioning man.

Despite his age, McAfee did not give up carnal joys. In 2012, in Miami, he met and married a prostitute, Janice Dyson, who was 30 years his junior.

It was McAfee’s example that inspired another celebrity, Elon Musk, to try the method of verbal intervention to manipulate the cryptocurrency market. Musk succeeded much more than McAfee and became the evil genius of cryptocurrencies. And McAfee eventually became disappointed with bitcoin. His latest statements about the king of cryptocurrencies have been extremely negative. At the end of May 2020, he tweeted:

– I’m the person who predicted Bitcoin, the most crippled crypto-tech, would reach $1 mil. Are you one of the persons who did not see the absurd humor in it? If bitcoin ever hit $1 mil, it’s market cap would be greater than the GDP of the entire North American Continent. What idiot could believe such nonsense?

McAfee was detained in Spain at the end of 2020 at the request of the US authorities. In the States, he was accused of tax evasion, illegal ICO advertising, money laundering, and fraud. For these crimes, he could get 25 years in prison, which actually means life imprisonment for him. However, until the last day, McAfee declared that he would never commit suicide. He stated from a Spanish prison:

– I am content here. I have friends. The food is good. All is well. Know that if I hang myself a la Epstein, it will be no fault of mine.

Jeffrey Epstein is a notorious American sex offender financier who hanged himself in prison. His death worked out to the benefit of many of his secular acquaintances, who could be greatly damaged by the confessions of the criminal. Perhaps the death of McAfee also saved someone’s reputation.
